Clownfish

clownfish
joyously frolicking
black stripes; yellow stripes
so contrasting
yet one body
you are one fish, one skin
intersecting colors
yellow; black
Black, serious, solemn
Yellow
light with joy
vibrance
excitement
yellow; black

Is your yellow gaiety all you are?
Is your black too morbid
and holds you down?
You're a marvel of contrast
Swimming, splashing
Yellow; black; yellow; black
And
with your contrast
you dance
Gleefully swimming
Flashing, splashing colors
Yellow, Black
Black, and yellow

Joy -
joy at this new step
My yellow stripe; my fun, my joy
I love to see you happy
To see your calm, your vision
of your future life
Some black,
some fear, some uncertainty
Knowing I'm still waiting my turn
Yet
Knowing it will come
Black and yellow

Yet you dance
Yet you move
Joyfully, you swim
And as I watch you, clownfish,
I join you
